Istanbul's Largest Mall
A City Within a City
When Mall of Istanbul opened in April 2014, it set a new benchmark for shopping and entertainment in Turkey. Anchored at the strategic intersection of the TEM and Northern Marmara motorways in Başakşehir, the complex stretches across 350,000 m² — one of the largest mixed-use developments in Europe by floor area.
The mall's master plan integrates retail, dining, cinema, sport, indoor theme park rides, performance spaces, a nature park and a five-star hotel into a single, seamlessly connected campus. In 2017, it received LEED Gold certification, recognising its sustainable design and energy management systems.
Today, Mall of Istanbul draws millions of visitors annually from across Istanbul, Turkey and further afield. The M9 metro line, inaugurated on 29 May 2021, added a fast and reliable direct connection from the city centre, Ataköy and the wider metro network — making a visit easy whether you are arriving from the historic peninsula, Bağcılar or either airport.
