Istanbul Intercity Car With Driver — One-Way Transfers, Same-Day Trips, and Multi-Day Turkey Routes

The same booking module that prices your airport transfer also handles long-distance routes outside Istanbul. For a dedicated vehicle that stays with your group, open the Car With Driver tab, switch the mode toggle to Daily, select Intercity under Use Type, enter your Pickup Location and Final Destination, set the calendar Duration, and write one target destination per City to Visit day row — the form calculates your route quote before you confirm.

Whether you need a direct one-way ride from Istanbul Airport (IST) or Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) to another city, a full-day excursion to Bursa or Lake Sapanca with a same-evening return, or a multi-day circuit to Çanakkale, Cappadocia, Pamukkale, Ephesus, and Antalya, this guide explains every form field, realistic driving times, and vehicle luggage capacities.

Before you fill the form

Three Intercity Service Formats & Which Booking Tab to Choose

Travellers searching for an intercity car with driver from Istanbul usually need one of three distinct operational formats. Choosing the right format and top tab — Transfer or Car With Driver — ensures your quote matches your actual schedule and waiting requirements.

Format 1 — Point-to-Point

One-Way Intercity Transfer

Direct door-to-door pickup at your Istanbul hotel, Istanbul Airport (IST), or Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) and straight highway drop-off at your hotel or address in another city (Bursa, Sapanca, Yalova, Bolu, Çanakkale, Ankara, Cappadocia, or Antalya). The chauffeur makes brief highway comfort breaks, unloads your luggage at the destination, and concludes the service without waiting on site all day.

Format 2 — Duration 1 (Daily)

Same-Day Intercity Excursion / Chauffeur Disposal

Booked under Car With Driver → Daily → Intercity (Duration 1). The vehicle and chauffeur stay dedicated to your group all day from morning pickup in Istanbul through multiple sightseeing stops (such as Bursa Grand Mosque, Cumalıkızık, and Uludağ, or Lake Sapanca and Maşukiye) before returning you to your Istanbul hotel the same evening.

Format 3 — Duration 2 to 5+ Days

Multi-Day Private Turkey Circuit

Booked under Car With Driver → Daily → Intercity (Duration 2+) for itineraries with one or more overnight stays outside Istanbul (Çanakkale & Troy, Cappadocia, Pamukkale & Hierapolis, Ephesus & Kuşadası, or Antalya). Your private vehicle handles both highway legs between cities and scheduled local sightseeing each day.

Direct Intercity Departures From Istanbul Airport (IST), Sabiha Gökçen (SAW), and Hotel-to-Hotel

You do not need to transfer into downtown Istanbul first if your trip starts immediately after landing. When you enter Istanbul Airport (IST) or Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) as your Pickup Location and include your flight number, our dispatch team monitors your arrival time, arranges terminal meet-and-greet, loads your suitcases directly into the vehicle, and heads straight onto the intercity motorway.

Airport geography tip: Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) on the Asian side connects directly to the O-4 motorway and the Osmangazi Bridge, cutting 45 to 75 minutes of Bosphorus bridge traffic when travelling east or south to Sapanca, Maşukiye, Yalova, Bursa, Uludağ, or Bolu / Abant. Conversely, Istanbul Airport (IST) on the European side provides faster motorway access west toward Tekirdağ, Edirne, Gallipoli, and Çanakkale. For standard airport arrivals into the city, see our Istanbul Airport (IST) transfer, Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) airport transfer, and Istanbul airport transfer routes pages.

Hotel-to-hotel & corporate intercity travel: Families moving between Istanbul hotels and resort properties in Sapanca, Uludağ, Bodrum, or Antalya — as well as executives visiting industrial zones in Gebze, Kocaeli, Sakarya, and Bursa — travel door-to-door without ferry queues or luggage transfers. For city-only hourly or full-day hire inside Istanbul, use our car with driver in Istanbul service.

Direct terminal pickup at Istanbul Airport (IST) or Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) for immediate highway departure to Bursa, Sapanca, Yalova, or Çanakkale without entering city traffic.
Transfer Tab (One-Way Point-to-Point)
  • Single pickup address → single drop-off address
  • Vehicle does not stay or wait at the destination
  • Ideal for airport arrivals/departures and direct one-way city-to-city rides
  • Includes brief highway rest stops on long routes
  • No City to Visit daily itinerary rows
Car With Driver Tab (Daily → Intercity)
  • Dedicated vehicle and chauffeur remain with your group
  • Covers sightseeing stops, waiting time, and same-day returns
  • Built for overnight and multi-day circuits across Turkey
  • Unlocks City to Visit rows — one target destination per service day
  • Quoted per vehicle for the planned route and duration, not per person

Key rule: the Intercity route option only appears when the mode toggle is set to Daily. If you cannot see Intercity, switch the toggle from Hourly to Daily and the Use Type selector will unlock.

The booking form, field by field

Six Fields That Determine Your Intercity Route Quote

The intercity booking configuration fits on a single screen. Six inputs drive the calculation: Mode, Pickup Location, Duration, Passengers, Use Type, and Final Destination. The moment you select Intercity, the City to Visit day rows appear beneath.

1

Mode — Daily

Switch the top toggle to Daily before filling anything else. Intercity routes are only available in Daily mode; Hourly mode is strictly for intra-city Istanbul bookings and hides the intercity fields.

2

Pickup Location

Enter your Istanbul hotel, residential address, cruise port, or airport code (IST or SAW). Select the matching autocomplete suggestion so the system records the exact coordinates.

3

Duration (Calendar Service Days)

Duration is calendar service days, not driving hours and not hotel nights. Day 1 is the day the chauffeur picks you up. A same-day return is Duration 1. One night away is Duration 2. Three days with two nights away is Duration 3.

4

Passengers (Including Children)

Enter the total headcount including infants and children. Every passenger requires a legal seat, and your passenger and luggage count determines whether a Premium Sedan, S-Class, Mercedes Vito / V-Class, or Sprinter is suitable.

5

Use Type — Intercity

Select Intercity whenever the itinerary leaves Istanbul province — even for a same-day trip to Sapanca or Bursa. Intercity calculation accounts for highway distance, bridge/motorway tolls, and multi-day logistics.

6

Final Destination & City to Visit Rows

Final Destination is where the entire booking ends on the last service day (your Istanbul return hotel, IST/SAW airport, or a drop-off hotel/airport in another city such as Antalya or İzmir). Fill each visible City to Visit row with the main destination for that specific service day.

  • City to Visit rows appear sequentially as Duration increases (Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4).
  • The drop-off label changes to Final Destination as soon as Intercity is selected.
  • Click Get Fixed Price → once all required fields are filled to view vehicle options and pricing.

Same-Day Excursions and Short Intercity Escapes From Istanbul

Destinations within 90 to 340 km of Istanbul work well as single-day round trips (Duration 1) or relaxed two-day overnight escapes (Duration 2). In Daily Intercity mode, the chauffeur picks you up in Istanbul, waits at each sightseeing stop, and returns you in the evening — or stays overnight when you book two days.

Historic Koza Han silk bazaar courtyard and mosque domes in Bursa visited on a private intercity day trip from Istanbul
Bursa's historic silk market (Koza Han) and Ottoman core, reached in ~2 to 2.5 hours from Istanbul via the Osmangazi Bridge.
1 day (or 2 days with Uludağ)

Bursa, Grand Mosque & Uludağ

Approximately 150–160 km (2 to 2.5 hours each way via the Osmangazi Bridge, depending on Istanbul exit traffic). Visit the Grand Mosque (Ulu Cami), Green Mosque, Koza Han silk bazaar, and Mount Uludağ. See our Bursa day trip with driver service page, Bursa travel guide, and Uludağ ski resort guide.

700-year-old Ottoman timber-framed houses in Cumalıkızık, an easy morning stop on the eastern foothills of Bursa.
1 day — Bursa heritage stop

Cumalıkızık UNESCO Village

Located on the lower slopes of Uludağ just 15 minutes east of central Bursa, this UNESCO-listed Ottoman village is famous for village breakfasts and preserved architecture. With a private chauffeur, you can combine Cumalıkızık village, historic Bursa, and Uludağ in a single Duration 1 booking.

Black Mercedes van parked beside a wooden pier overlooking the calm waters of Lake Sapanca
Lake Sapanca shoreline in Sakarya province, frequently paired with nearby Maşukiye in Kocaeli province.
1 day

Lake Sapanca (Sakarya) & Maşukiye (Kocaeli)

Approximately 130–140 km east of Istanbul (1.5 to 2.25 hours depending on bridge traffic). Note the provincial geography: Lake Sapanca lies in Sakarya province, while forested Maşukiye and Mount Kartepe sit in neighboring Kocaeli province. Explore more on our Sapanca private tour page and Sapanca travel guide.

VIP Mercedes Vito with chauffeur parked outside a green thermal resort hotel in Yalova Termal
Door-to-door chauffeur service from Istanbul to Yalova and the wooded Termal district via the Osmangazi Bridge.
1 day or direct transfer

Yalova & Termal District

Approximately 90–110 km from Istanbul (1.25 to 1.75 hours via the Osmangazi Bridge). Visit the forested Termal valley, the historic Walking Mansion (Yürüyen Köşk), and the Marmara waterfront. Enter Yalova Thermal in City to Visit (Day 1) and read our daily Yalova trip guide.

Mercedes chauffeur van parked by pine forests along the shore of Lake Abant in Bolu province
Lake Abant Nature Park in Bolu province (~260–300 km from Istanbul), an all-season highland lake escape.
1 day (early start) or 2 days

Bolu & Lake Abant Nature Park

Approximately 260–300 km from Istanbul (3 to 3.5 hours each way via the O-4 motorway). Enter Bolu Abant in Day 1 and plan an early morning departure. Important route distinction: Lake Abant is easily reached off the main highway, whereas Yedigöller (Seven Lakes) National Park lies on a longer, winding mountain road north of Bolu and requires a dedicated trip or overnight stay rather than a quick combined detour.

Mercedes-Benz V-Class along the Dardanelles Strait for Gallipoli battlefields, the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, and ancient Troy.
1 day (long) or 2 days (recommended)

Çanakkale, Gallipoli & Ancient Troy

Approximately 310–340 km (4 to 4.5 hours each way). While Gallipoli alone is possible as a very long single day, combining the European-side Gallipoli memorials with the Asian-side Troy archaeological site via the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge is far more comfortable as a Duration 2 overnight trip. In Thrace, Tekirdağ and Edirne (Selimiye Mosque) also work well as individual day trips or a combined 2-day route.

How Duration maps to your itinerary

Duration 1, 2, 3 and Beyond — What Each Number Means & Realistic Pacing

In the booking form, Duration is the total number of calendar service days your chauffeur and vehicle are assigned to you — not the number of hotel nights and not the driving hours. Matching Duration to real Turkish highway distances prevents exhausting schedules:

  • Duration 1 (Same-day return or 1-day disposal): Morning pickup in Istanbul, sightseeing in a nearby province, and return to Istanbul the same evening. Best for Bursa & Cumalıkızık, Sapanca & Maşukiye, Yalova Termal, Edirne, or an early-departure Bolu / Lake Abant day trip.
  • Duration 2 (Two calendar days / 1 overnight): Day 1 covers the outbound drive and afternoon visits; Day 2 covers morning exploring and the return drive to Istanbul. Ideal for Çanakkale + Gallipoli + Troy, Bursa + Uludağ overnight, Sapanca + Bolu / Abant + Yedigöller, or Tekirdağ + Edirne.
  • Duration 3 (Three calendar days / 2 overnights): Day 1 outbound travel, Day 2 full local sightseeing day, Day 3 return or onward drop-off. Recommended minimum for Cappadocia by road, Safranbolu + Amasra, or a compact Ephesus / Kuşadası + Pamukkale circuit.
  • Duration 4 (Four calendar days / 3 overnights): Comfortable pacing for Bursa + Pamukkale + Ephesus / Kuşadası + İzmir or an extended Ankara + Cappadocia itinerary with two full valley days.
  • Duration 5+ (Five or more calendar days): Multi-region circuits linking Marmara, the Aegean, Central Anatolia, and the Mediterranean coast. Enter the first four key daily destinations in the visible City to Visit (Day 1–4) rows and enter your final drop-off address in Final Destination; your full selected Duration drives the price calculation and dispatch confirms the remaining daily legs after submission.

Why we do not recommend a 2-day round-trip drive to Cappadocia: Cappadocia (Göreme / Ürgüp) is approximately 730–750 km from Istanbul — about 8.5 to 10 hours of driving each way including brief highway rest stops. While the booking form technically accepts Duration 2, driving ~1,500 km round-trip within 48 hours leaves almost no time to see the valleys and conflicts with mandatory commercial driver rest hours. For Cappadocia by road, book either a one-way intercity transfer / 2-day outbound leg (stopping in Ankara or Lake Tuz) or a minimum 3- to 4-day (2–3 night) circuit via our Istanbul to Cappadocia car with driver service — or combine a short domestic flight with a private chauffeur vehicle.

Duration 3 to 5+ days — Central Anatolia, Aegean & Mediterranean

Multi-Day Turkey Routes With Dedicated Chauffeur Continuity

For itineraries of three days or more, each City to Visit row represents the primary destination for that calendar day. We prioritize assigning a single dedicated chauffeur and vehicle for your entire journey so you never have to reload suitcases between separate local operators — always planned in compliance with legal driving-time and overnight rest regulations.

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter group service at the white calcium terraces of Pamukkale and ancient Hierapolis in Denizli province.
Duration 3–4

Pamukkale & Hierapolis (Denizli Province)

Located in Denizli province (~600–650 km from Istanbul, approx. 6.5 to 7.5 hours via the Istanbul–İzmir motorway and inland Aegean highway). Pair the UNESCO Pamukkale travertines and Hierapolis thermal ruins with Bursa or Ephesus over a 3- to 4-day circuit.

Coastal view of Kuşadası harbor and UNESCO ancient city of Ephesus sign served by a private Mercedes chauffeur van
Aegean circuit linking the ancient city of Ephesus in Selçuk (İzmir province) with the coastal resort port of Kuşadası (Aydın province).
Duration 3–5

Ephesus (Selçuk / İzmir) & Kuşadası (Aydın)

Note the exact Aegean geography: the ancient city of Ephesus, House of the Virgin Mary, and Basilica of St. John are in Selçuk (İzmir province) (~550–580 km from Istanbul), while the nearby cruise port and resort hotels of Kuşadası lie 20 km south in Aydın province.

Duration 4–6 (or One-Way)

Antalya & the Mediterranean Coast

Approximately 700–720 km from Istanbul (8 to 9.5 hours by road). Popular as the endpoint of a 5-day Classic Turkey circuit (Bursa → Ephesus → Pamukkale → Antalya) or a luggage-heavy family transfer to Kaleiçi, Lara, Kemer, or Side. Read our Antalya attractions guide.

Family Resort Transfer or Circuit

The Land of Legends (Kadriye / Serik, Antalya)

The Land of Legends theme park and Kingdom Hotel are located in Kadriye (Serik district, Antalya province) near Belek — about 30–35 km east of central Antalya (~710 km from Istanbul). Ideal for families finishing an Aegean/Pamukkale route or booking a direct door-to-door resort transfer; see our Land of Legends Antalya guide.

Western Black Sea circuits (Safranbolu & Amasra) and the 4 visible Day rows: Prefer quieter forested highways? A 3- to 5-day Black Sea route links Bolu / Abant → UNESCO Safranbolu (Karabük province) → coastal Amasra (Bartın province) before returning to Istanbul. Because the online form currently displays up to four City to Visit fields, for any Duration 5+ route simply enter your first four daily destinations in Days 1–4 and write the final drop-off address in Final Destination. The full Duration you select is priced into the quote, and our dispatch team confirms the remaining daily legs with you after submission.

  • Book at least Duration 3 (2 nights) for round-trip road itineraries to Cappadocia, Pamukkale, or Ephesus / Kuşadası — or book a one-way intercity drop-off.
  • Plan one major long-distance destination per service day rather than compressing two distant provinces into a single day.
  • For Duration 5+ circuits, fill the four visible Day rows with Days 1–4 and enter the final trip endpoint in Final Destination.
The two fields most travellers get wrong

Final Destination vs. City to Visit — How to Write Them Precisely

Final Destination — three common scenarios

  • Same-day Bursa or Sapanca return: Pickup Location = your Istanbul hotel. Final Destination = the same Istanbul hotel. City to Visit (Day 1) = Bursa or Sapanca Lake.
  • Trip finishing at an Istanbul airport: Pickup Location = your Istanbul hotel. Final Destination = Istanbul Airport (IST) or Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW). City to Visit (Day 1) = your destination city.
  • Multi-day circuit ending in another city: Pickup Location = your Istanbul hotel or IST/SAW. Final Destination = your Antalya hotel, The Land of Legends (Kadriye/Serik), or İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB). Day rows = each daily stop en route.

Rule of thumb: Never put an intermediate sightseeing stop in Final Destination. Intermediate cities belong in the City to Visit Day rows; Final Destination is strictly where the chauffeur drops you off at the very end of the booking.

City to Visit — good and bad inputs

Each Day field requires one concrete city or district so the routing engine and dispatch team can calculate highway mileage accurately.

Good Inputs
  • Bursa (or Bursa + Cumalıkızık)
  • Sapanca Lake
  • Yalova Thermal
  • Bolu Abant
  • Çanakkale / Gallipoli
  • Cappadocia / Göreme hotel
  • Pamukkale (Denizli)
  • Ephesus (Selçuk) / Kuşadası
Avoid
  • “Turkey tour” or “Anatolia”
  • “Many places” or “Everywhere”
  • “I don’t know yet”
  • Two distant provinces in one Day field
  • A hotel brand name without its city
  • Entering Istanbul again on intermediate days
Private car with driver vs. public & air alternatives

How Private Car With Driver Compares to Overnight Coaches, High-Speed Rail (YHT) & Domestic Flights

Turkey has an extensive network of intercity coaches, high-speed trains (YHT to Eskişehir, Ankara, and Konya), and domestic flights. A private intercity car or van with chauffeur solves a different travel problem: door-to-door continuity, zero baggage-handling friction, and sightseeing stops between cities.

Intercity Coach, YHT Train, or Domestic Flight
  • Intercity coaches: Depart from and arrive at outer bus terminals (otogar) on fixed timetables, making scheduled stops only at designated highway rest areas and regional terminals rather than on-demand sightseeing stops
  • High-speed rail (YHT) & flights: Require separate transfers to/from stations or airports at both ends, security check-in windows, and per-passenger baggage weight limits
  • No ability to stop at Cumalıkızık, Lake Sapanca, Ephesus, or Pamukkale en route with your luggage stored safely on board
  • Still requires hiring local taxis, transfers, or tour buses once you arrive at your destination
  • Priced per individual ticket (costs multiply for families and groups of 4–14 travellers)
Private Car, Van, or Sprinter With Chauffeur
  • Door-to-door pickup at your Istanbul hotel or IST / SAW arrival gate and drop-off at your destination hotel entrance
  • Your group only — private cabin climate control, quiet highway ride, and flexible departure times
  • Stop for sightseeing, lunch, photography, or rest breaks along the route while your suitcases remain attended in the vehicle
  • Handles both the city-to-city highway drive and your local sightseeing days in Daily Intercity mode
  • Quoted per vehicle (not per passenger), making it highly practical for families, small groups, and luggage-heavy itineraries

When does combining a domestic flight with a chauffeur make sense? For solo travellers or couples on a tight 2-day window heading to distant regions like Cappadocia (~730–750 km), Antalya (~700–720 km), or Trabzon (~1,070 km) without visiting intermediate cities, flying one way and booking a private chauffeur transfer can save highway hours. For families, groups of 3 to 14 passengers, travellers with full-size suitcases, or anyone linking Bursa, Ephesus, Pamukkale, Konya, and Cappadocia into a multi-stop journey, a private chauffeured vehicle eliminates repeated airport transits.

Transparent quote calculation & operational rules

How Your Intercity Quote Is Calculated — Inclusions, Exclusions & Chauffeur Standards

Unlike metered taxis, Cab Istanbul intercity bookings are calculated upfront from the exact route parameters you enter in the booking form:

  • Vehicle category & group size: Premium Sedan, Mercedes-Benz S-Class (on request), Mercedes Vito / VIP Vito, Mercedes V-Class, or Mercedes Sprinter minibus.
  • Service format & calendar Duration: One-way Transfer vs. Daily Intercity disposal (Duration 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5+ calendar service days).
  • Total route mileage & empty return leg: Calculated from your Pickup Location, each daily City to Visit stop, and your Final Destination (including the vehicle and chauffeur's return leg to Istanbul base when your trip ends in another city).
  • Included in your confirmed route quote: Private vehicle in the selected class, professional chauffeur service, fuel for the agreed itinerary, standard motorway and bridge tolls along the quoted route (such as the Osmangazi Bridge or 1915 Çanakkale Bridge when part of the route), and driver overnight accommodation/allowance on multi-day bookings.
  • Not included by default: Museum, archaeological site, or national park entrance tickets, cable car tickets, licensed tourist guide fees, guest hotel rooms or meals, and major unscheduled detours outside the agreed route.

Chauffeur role vs. licensed tourist guide: A chauffeur provides transportation and journey logistics. A chauffeur is not automatically a licensed tourist guide. Under Turkish tourism regulations, historical guiding inside archaeological sites and museums (such as Ephesus, Hierapolis, Troy, or Göreme Open-Air Museum) is performed only by Ministry-licensed tourist guides. If you would like a licensed guide in addition to your chauffeur, let our team know when confirming your itinerary.

Dedicated driver continuity & mandatory rest rules: On multi-day intercity routes, we prioritize keeping the same English-speaking chauffeur with your group from start to finish, supported 24/7 by our operations desk. All daily schedules and multi-day itineraries are planned in strict compliance with commercial road transport regulations (TURSAB No. 11980 and D2 authorization) and mandatory daily and overnight driver rest periods.

Important pricing notice: Any prices or route examples shown on this page are indicative only. For the current and exact price for your journey, use the booking form with your actual date, route, passenger count, and vehicle requirements.

Registered seats ≠ multi-day luggage capacity

Match Vehicle Class to Group Size, Trip Length & Real Luggage Volume

The passenger count you enter in the form filters the available vehicles on the results page, but on intercity road trips registered seat count is not the same as practical luggage capacity. Six adults on a same-day Bursa excursion with no suitcases fit comfortably in a Mercedes Vito or V-Class; the same six adults on a 5-day Cappadocia and Aegean circuit with six large check-in suitcases, six carry-ons, and a stroller require a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter so luggage never encroaches on passenger legroom.

1–2 Travellers · Light Bags

Premium Sedan

Ideal for solo business travellers or couples with up to 2 medium suitcases on same-day Bursa/Sapanca trips or direct point-to-point transfers. Trunk space is limited for 3+ day trips with oversized luggage.

3–6 Travellers · Family Standard

Mercedes-Benz Vito & VIP Vito

The versatile all-rounder for family day trips to Sapanca, Bursa, and Bolu Abant, as well as 2- to 4-day intercity tours with up to 4–5 large suitcases and cabin bags.

3–6 Travellers · Executive Van

Mercedes-Benz V-Class

Refined suspension, superior highway cabin insulation, and executive leather seating for longer intercity drives to Çanakkale, İzmir, Ephesus, Pamukkale, and Cappadocia.

7–14+ Travellers (or 5–6 With Heavy Bags)

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Minibus

High-roof cabin, reclining seats, and dedicated rear luggage bay for extended families, multi-day circuits, ski/golf gear, strollers, or wheelchairs. See our van and Sprinter rental with driver page and minibus hire guide.

Vehicle Class Recommended Passenger Count Practical Multi-Day Luggage Capacity Best Intercity Use Case
Premium Sedan 1–2 passengers 2 medium/large suitcases + 2 cabin bags Same-day Bursa/Sapanca trips, corporate meetings in Kocaeli/Gebze, light-luggage transfers
Mercedes-Benz S-Class (VIP) 1–2 VIP passengers 2 medium/large suitcases + 2 briefcases/cabin bags Executive intercity travel, diplomatic protocol, luxury hotel-to-hotel connections
Mercedes-Benz Vito / VIP Vito 3–6 passengers 4–5 large suitcases + 4–5 carry-on bags Family day excursions (Bursa, Sapanca, Yalova, Abant) and 2–4 day routes with moderate bags
Mercedes-Benz V-Class 3–6 passengers 4–5 large suitcases + 4–5 carry-on bags Long highway journeys (Çanakkale, Ephesus, Pamukkale, Cappadocia) requiring executive ride comfort
Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Minibus 7–14+ passengers (or 5–6 with heavy luggage) 8–14 large suitcases + strollers, ski/golf gear, or folding wheelchair 5+ day Turkey circuits, multi-generational families, and groups travelling with full check-in luggage

1 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vs. 2 Vans (Vito / V-Class) for groups of 7–14 passengers: For a group of 7 to 14 travellers on a multi-day route, booking one Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with a single chauffeur is usually the most cost-effective and social choice — everyone rides together, highway tolls and driver accommodation apply to one vehicle, and the deep luggage bay holds 8 to 14 large suitcases plus strollers. Booking two separate Mercedes Vito or V-Class vans makes sense when two families travelling together want independent daily schedules at the destination (for example, one family returning to the hotel early with young children while the other continues evening sightseeing).

Frequently Asked Questions About Intercity Car With Driver in Turkey

1. What is the difference between a one-way intercity transfer, a same-day excursion, and a multi-day circuit?

A one-way intercity transfer collects you in Istanbul (hotel, IST, or SAW) and drops you off directly at your address in another city, where the chauffeur finishes the job without waiting all day. A same-day excursion (Car With Driver → Daily → Intercity, Duration 1) keeps the vehicle and chauffeur with your group all day for multiple sightseeing stops and returns you to Istanbul that evening. A multi-day circuit (Duration 2 to 5+ days) covers itineraries with one or more overnight stays outside Istanbul, combining highway legs with daily local sightseeing.

2. Should I choose the Transfer tab or the Car With Driver tab for an intercity trip?

Use Transfer when you only need a point-to-point ride from Pickup to Drop-off with no waiting at the destination. Use Car With Driver whenever the vehicle and chauffeur need to stay with you: same-day returns (such as Bursa or Sapanca), multi-stop sightseeing days, or multi-day routes across Turkey. For simple airport-to-hotel rides inside Istanbul, see our Istanbul Airport transfer page.

3. Why can’t I see the Intercity option in the booking form?

The Intercity option under Use Type only appears when the mode toggle is set to Daily. When the toggle is set to Hourly, the form is restricted to intra-city Istanbul hire and hides both the Use Type selector and the City to Visit rows. Switch the toggle from Hourly to Daily and Intercity will unlock immediately.

4. What does Duration mean in Daily Intercity mode?

Duration is the number of calendar service days your chauffeur and vehicle are assigned to your group — not driving hours and not hotel nights. Day 1 is the calendar day the chauffeur picks you up in Istanbul. A same-day return is Duration 1. A trip with one overnight stay away from Istanbul is Duration 2. A three-day trip with two nights away is Duration 3.

5. What should I write in the Final Destination field?

Enter the exact address, hotel, or airport where the entire booking ends on the final service day. For a same-day Bursa return, enter your Istanbul hotel. For a trip finishing with an evening flight out of Istanbul, enter Istanbul Airport (IST) or Sabiha Gökçen (SAW). For a 5-day circuit finishing on the Mediterranean coast, enter your Antalya hotel, Kadriye/Belek resort, or Antalya Airport (AYT). Never put an intermediate sightseeing stop in Final Destination.

6. What should I write in the City to Visit day rows?

Write one concrete target city or district per Day field — for example: Bursa, Sapanca Lake, Yalova Thermal, Bolu Abant, Çanakkale / Gallipoli, Cappadocia / Göreme, Pamukkale, or Ephesus / Kuşadası. Avoid vague phrases like “Turkey tour”, “many places”, or “everywhere”, and do not combine two distant provinces into a single Day field.

7. Why does the form only show four City to Visit rows, and how do I book 5+ days?

The current form interface displays up to four daily City to Visit fields on screen, but Duration itself is not capped. When you select Duration 5, 6, or more, enter your first four primary daily stops in Days 1–4 and enter your final trip endpoint in Final Destination. The quote engine prices the full number of service days you selected, and our dispatch team confirms the remaining daily routing with you after submission.

8. Can I depart directly from Istanbul Airport (IST) or Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) to another city without entering central Istanbul?

Yes. Enter IST or SAW as your Pickup Location and provide your flight number when confirming. Your chauffeur tracks your flight, greets you at the terminal exit, loads your luggage, and drives directly onto the intercity motorway toward Bursa, Sapanca, Yalova, Bolu, or Çanakkale without detouring into downtown Istanbul.

9. Which Istanbul airport is closer for trips to Bursa, Yalova, Sapanca, or Çanakkale?

Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) on the Asian side is significantly closer to eastern and southern routes — including Sapanca, Maşukiye, Yalova, Bursa, Uludağ, and Bolu / Abant — because it avoids crossing the Bosphorus bridges. Istanbul Airport (IST) on the European side is closer for westbound routes to Tekirdağ, Edirne, Gallipoli, and Çanakkale.

10. How long does the drive from Istanbul to Bursa and Cumalıkızık take, and can it be done in one day?

Bursa is approximately 150–160 km from Istanbul, taking 2 to 2.5 hours each way via the Osmangazi Bridge depending on Istanbul exit traffic. A same-day return on Duration 1 comfortably covers the Grand Mosque (Ulu Cami), Koza Han silk market, the UNESCO Ottoman village of Cumalıkızık, and Mount Uludağ. See our Bursa day trip page for full route details.

11. Are Lake Sapanca and Maşukiye in the same province, and how far are they from Istanbul?

They are adjacent and visited together on a single Duration 1 day trip (~130–140 km east of Istanbul, or 1.5 to 2.25 hours each way), but they span two neighboring provinces: Lake Sapanca is in Sakarya province, while the forest waterfalls of Maşukiye (on the slopes of Mount Kartepe) are in Kocaeli province. See our Sapanca tours page.

12. How far is Bolu / Lake Abant from Istanbul, and is it the same route as Yedigöller National Park?

Lake Abant Nature Park in Bolu province is approximately 260–300 km from Istanbul (3 to 3.5 hours each way via the O-4 motorway), making it doable as an early-start single day or a relaxed 2-day trip. Yedigöller (Seven Lakes) National Park lies on a separate, slower winding mountain road north of Bolu — do not try to combine Abant and Yedigöller into a single same-day return from Istanbul.

13. Should I book 1 day or 2 days for Çanakkale, Gallipoli, and Troy?

Çanakkale is approximately 310–340 km from Istanbul (4 to 4.5 hours each way). Visiting the Gallipoli battlefields on the European peninsula alone is possible on a very long Duration 1 day with an early departure, but if you want to cross the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge to visit both Gallipoli and the ancient city and museum of Troy on the Asian side, booking Duration 2 (1 overnight in Çanakkale) is far more comfortable.

14. Why is Duration 2 not recommended for an Istanbul → Cappadocia → Istanbul round trip by road?

Cappadocia (Göreme / Ürgüp) is approximately 730–750 km from Istanbul — about 8.5 to 10 hours of driving each way with highway breaks. While the form technically accepts Duration 2, driving ~1,500 km round-trip in 48 hours leaves almost no time on the ground for valleys or balloon mornings and conflicts with safe commercial driver rest rules. For Cappadocia by road, book either a one-way intercity transfer / 2-day outbound leg or a minimum 3- to 4-day (2–3 night) circuit via our Istanbul to Cappadocia service, or combine a domestic flight with a chauffeur vehicle.

15. Which provinces are Pamukkale, Ephesus, and Kuşadası in, and how many days do they need from Istanbul?

Pamukkale and Hierapolis are in Denizli province (~600–650 km from Istanbul). The ancient city of Ephesus is in Selçuk (İzmir province) (~550–580 km from Istanbul), while the coastal resort town of Kuşadası is 20 km south in Aydın province. Plan at least Duration 3 to 5 to combine them comfortably with Bursa or Antalya.

16. Where is The Land of Legends located in relation to Antalya, and how do I enter it in the form?

The Land of Legends complex is located in Kadriye (Serik district, Antalya province) near Belek, about 30–35 km east of central Antalya (~710 km from Istanbul). You can enter The Land of Legends Kadriye or Antalya Belek as your Final Destination at the end of a multi-day circuit or one-way family transfer.

17. Can I start my multi-day route in Istanbul and finish in Antalya, İzmir, or Cappadocia without returning to Istanbul?

Yes. Set Final Destination to your drop-off hotel or airport in Antalya, İzmir, or Cappadocia and list your daily stops in the City to Visit rows. Your chauffeur drops you off at the end of your final booked service day, and the vehicle's empty return leg to Istanbul base is already factored into the quote.

18. Will we have the same chauffeur from start to finish on a multi-day trip?

Our operational priority is assigning a single dedicated chauffeur and vehicle for the entire duration of your booking so you enjoy seamless continuity. At the same time, every long-distance and multi-day itinerary is scheduled in strict compliance with mandatory commercial driving hours, road safety standards, and daily/overnight driver rest regulations.

19. Is my chauffeur also a licensed tourist guide inside museums and archaeological sites?

No. A chauffeur provides transportation and journey logistics. A chauffeur is not automatically a licensed tourist guide. In Turkey, guiding inside archaeological sites and museums (such as Ephesus, Hierapolis, Troy, and Topkapı Palace) is legally restricted to Ministry-licensed tourist guides. If you want a licensed tour guide in addition to your chauffeur, request one through our team when booking.

20. Does my intercity chauffeur speak English, and how does dispatch support work?

Chauffeurs assigned to intercity routes speak practical operational English for daily coordination, pickup timing, and route stops, backed 24/7 by our English-speaking operations and dispatch team via phone and WhatsApp throughout your journey.

21. Why does practical luggage capacity differ from registered seat count on multi-day trips?

A Mercedes Vito or V-Class seats up to 6 passengers comfortably on a day trip with light bags, but its luggage compartment practically holds 4 to 5 large check-in suitcases plus carry-ons. If 6 passengers are travelling for 5 days with 6+ large suitcases, strollers, or ski/golf gear, upgrading to a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter ensures all bags stay safely in the dedicated luggage bay rather than in the passenger cabin.

22. For a group of 8 to 14 passengers, is it better to book 1 Mercedes Sprinter or 2 Vans (Vito / V-Class)?

Booking 1 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minibus is usually more economical and keeps the entire group together with a single chauffeur, one set of highway/bridge tolls, and a large luggage bay holding 8–14 suitcases. Booking 2 separate Vito or V-Class vans is preferable only when two families in the group want independent schedules at the destination.

23. Can I request a Mercedes-Benz S-Class for executive intercity travel?

Yes. The Mercedes-Benz S-Class is available on advance request for 1–2 VIP passengers travelling between Istanbul and cities such as Ankara, Bursa, Kocaeli, or Edirne. We guarantee the confirmed vehicle capacity and luxury class rather than a specific license plate registration.

24. What is included in the intercity route quote, and what is excluded?

The confirmed route quote covers the private vehicle, professional chauffeur, fuel for the agreed route, standard highway and bridge tolls along the quoted itinerary, and driver overnight allowance on multi-day trips. It does not include museum or site entrance tickets, licensed tour guide fees, guest hotel accommodation or meals, or major unscheduled detours. Any prices or route examples shown on this page are indicative only. For the current and exact price for your journey, use the booking form with your actual date, route, passenger count, and vehicle requirements.

25. How is driver accommodation handled on overnight and multi-day bookings?

When you book multi-day service in Daily Intercity mode, the chauffeur's overnight accommodation and rest logistics are factored into the multi-day calculation and arranged by operations — you do not need to book a hotel room for your driver.

26. How does a private car with driver compare to overnight buses, YHT high-speed trains, or domestic flights?

Intercity coaches operate between outer bus terminals (otogar) on fixed timetables and stop only at scheduled highway rest areas and terminals. High-speed trains (YHT) and domestic flights require terminal transfers at both ends, baggage limits, and separate local transport upon arrival. A private car or van with driver collects you at your hotel or airport gate, carries your luggage door-to-door, stops for sightseeing along the route, and prices the journey per vehicle rather than per ticket.

27. Can we leave our suitcases inside the vehicle while visiting sights along the route?

Yes. One of the major advantages of a private car with driver is being able to stop at intermediate highlights — such as Cumalıkızık, Ephesus, Pamukkale, or Ankara — while your luggage remains locked and attended in the vehicle with your chauffeur.

28. Are child seats available, and do children count toward the passenger total?

Yes, infant and child seats can be requested when confirming your booking. Always include babies and children in the Passengers headcount in the form, as Turkish transport law requires a dedicated seat for every passenger regardless of age.

29. Are vehicles equipped for winter mountain routes to Uludağ, Bolu Abant, or Kartalkaya?

Yes. During the winter season, vehicles assigned to mountain and highland routes (such as Uludağ, Bolu / Lake Abant, Kartalkaya, and Central Anatolia) are equipped in compliance with Turkish winter tire and highway safety regulations.

30. Can I modify my route or add an extra stop after submitting the booking?

Minor adjustments along the same highway corridor can be arranged with our dispatch team before pickup or on the day. If you wish to add a new city or a major detour that significantly increases mileage, toll costs, or driving hours, our dispatch team will verify driver rest-hour compliance and confirm any quote adjustment with you before the detour takes place.
